Peptide generation and ionization
Proteins are enzymatically digested into peptides and ionized by electrospray ionization (ESI) to produce charged ions.
m/z window segmentation
The predefined m/z range (e.g., 400–1,200) is partitioned into multiple small isolation windows (e.g., 25 Da each).
Parallel fragmentation and acquisition
All ions within each window are fragmented simultaneously, yielding complex multiplexed MS/MS spectra.
